In 2007 the US recession hit and my high-end remodeling business fell flat on it’s face. In this very difficult transition I decided to completely change directions. At that moment I entered the technology sector and haven’t looked back for 9 years. I began teaching myself Google Adwords, web programming and the psychology of user experience design. Why am I telling you this? So you understand where I’m coming from and where I’m at today.
Fast forward to 2010. My long time friend, Travis Rathbun, had been pushing dents for nearly 10 years. He’d traveled the US chasing hail, worked auto auctions and wholesale lots and with a new family growing he decided to stay close to home and begin a retail PDR career.
Travis asked me to help him grow a new retail PDR business. I had a fair amount of knowledge and insight into the PDR industry by now and had some pretty good skills generating leads online. We began but I failed early on. Clicks cost too much, leads weren’t converting and the money wasn’t coming in. We spent about $4000.
Fast forward to 2012. After dropping roughly $4000 things began to change for the better. I had learned so much by this time that we began to win. Over the next 3 years I got extremely intimate with the PDR industry. Learning everything I could from Travis and transforming the ad campaigns into retail monsters. I learned how to push dents, I learned the retail customer mindset, I learned the dent tech and I learned how to dominate search marketing for PDR.
By early 2014 we had become unstoppable. Every dent tech around us tried to compete but they couldn’t hang on. They spent too much too fast and couldn’t convert the leads. Sound familiar? That year I also took a full time job at Wells Fargo as a senior interaction designer (user experience design) to pay the bills.
The past two years I’ve spent my spare time tweaking and enhancing my craft. Dealing with the constant changes of Google and working hard to remain on top, ahead of any competitors. And finally, as of 2016, I decided I’d start helping other dent techs win like we are.
Welcome to Dent Rebel
It’s my dream to be here helping dent techs. It’s my exit plan out of the rat race of corporate america. It’s my goal to be the #1 PDR advertising company on the internet. I’m seriously in it to win it for PDR techs and hopeful that one day I can say this is my full time career.
